Magnitone Lucid Review

I was yearning to purchase a facial cleansing brush for almost a year after reading rave reviews about the clarisonic and the magnitone lucid, I decided to invest in the magnitone lucid when on offer at boots for £50 instead of £70.

Magnitone Lucid

I ordered the blue as the green was sold out. It's a really nice shade, kind of an electric blue. The magnitone is simple to use, and the charger is a magnet you attach to the part you hold whilst using. The charge does last long, I have only charged mine 2 or 3 times! I have quite small hands so the size is perfect for me. It only comes with one brush which is rather miserly. It should come with a spare!

The website promises that it "unclog pores, and sweep away dry and dead skin cells, leaving a clearer complexion"and "softer, brighter, clearer skin".

Reviews read: "Leaves skin feeling lovely and clean"; "skin feels firmer"; "My skin is more radiant and even toned".

I really wished this to be the case for me, but it wasn't. I have had the magnitone for over 3 months (I gave an extra couple of weeks on the magnitone 7 day challenge stated in their advertising) and now and have not noticed any difference whatsoever! My muslin cloth does a better job at making my skin feel clean and polished and that only cost a couple of quid.
Save your money ladies. I only give this a 1/5.

Your Guide to a Good Jummah

tumblr ng3391ZaXz1rnvg5ro1 500

masjid gates
time for a trim !!
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that masjid in which Jumuah salat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this. The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah; the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah.Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah."
[Bukhari and Muslim]

They say Friday is the best day of the week but for a Muslim we have far more to look forward to other than the weekend off work and school! Friday is a day of Allah's Generosity when it comes to whom He wishes to Forgive.

The name Jummah is derived from the word Al-Jam' in Arabic which means to gather, as Muslims gather on this day every week, and Allah has commanded the believers to gather for His worship, "Oh you who believe! When the call is proclaimed for Jummah (Friday prayer), come fast to the remembrance of Allah." Jummah thus becomes a great reason for a get together and rush to receive the blessings from Allah.

From one Jummah to the next, there is an expiation for whatever sins come in between, so long as one does not commit any major sin. (Muslim, 233)

So before you head off to the masjid, here are some precious sunnah acts of Jummah to make your Friday that little bit more special (rewarding).

Sunnah acts of Friday

miswak
Get between those gaps!
Sunnah & Acts of Jummah day:
1 - Bathing (Ghusl) on the day of Jumumah (Bukhari 1951)
2 - To wear nice clothes (Abu Dawood,)
3 - Use perfume, and use the Miswaak. (Ibn Majah)
4 - Going early to Jumuah Prayer (Bukhari 929 & Muslim 1964 )
5 - Walking to Masjid for Jumuah Paryer (Al-Tirmidi, 496)

The best reward is at the front row!
6 - Try to sit as close as possible to the Imam. (Majah, Tirmidhi)
7 - Listening attentively to Khutbah (Sermon) (Bukhari 934)
8 - Reading Surah tul Kahf (Before sun sets on Friday). [Saheeh al-Targheeb, 836]
9 - Visiting the Sick & Attending Muslims Funeral [Trimidhi]
10- Increase your Durood (example: Durood Ibrahim) "Recite Durood upon me in abundance on the day of Jummah since they are presented to me." (Ibn Majah) Salams upon the Prophet.

Don't forget..

dua
Ask the one who never refuses to answer
Don't forget, after the Jummah prayer the good blessings don't stop there!
The day of Jumu'ah includes an hour during which all supplications are accepted. Abu Hurayrah, narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), said:
"On (the day of) Jumu'ah is an hour during which Allah gives to a Muslim servant standing in prayer whatever he asks for." [Bukhari and Muslim]

So make sure you give yourself that much needed 'ME' time with Allah (between Asr and Magrib) and ask away!!
dontion tin
Friday charity is more virtuous than any other day
Last but in no way least;
Giving your charity on Jummah carries more virtue than other days. Ka'b, narrated that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"Charity given during the day of Jumu'ah is greater (in reward) than any other day."

"The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 604

"Save yourself from hellfire by giving even half a date-fruit in charity." - Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Hadith 498

20 Reasons to Love Argan Oil

From tackling skin problems and stretch marks to softening skin and smoothing hair, could argan oil be the world’s most useful all-natural beauty product? Caitlyn Davey reveals the myriad benefits of this Moroccan elixir.

Often confused with Moroccan oil, argan oil is a pure substance extracted from the argan tree in Morocco. Moroccan oil is a less pure form of argan oil that typically contains synthetic additives. Argan oil, in its pure form, has a myriad of beauty uses, which is why hairdressers and therapists often recommend it.

Founder of Izil Natural Argan Beauty, Mohamed Najib Mouline, shares her top 20 ways to use and benefit from argan oil.

1. Treat your wrinkles
Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants that help to fight against wrinkles and other skin changes.

2. Enjoy brighter skin
Mix argan oil with a spoonful of honey and a spoon of rosewater to create the perfect 30-minute face mask.

3. Fight off oily skin
Apply argan oil to the face – it acts as a sebum production regulator, reducing the skin’s production of natural oils.

4. Combat dry skin
If you have dry skin, argan oil will help balance moisture thanks to its rich fatty-acid content.

5. Fight dandruff
If you suffer from dandruff, apply argan oil to your hair and massage well into the scalp. Brush the oil through and wrap in a hot towel. Leave for 20 minutes before washing as normal. Then you will be able to see the difference: the oil will soothe, hydrate and nourish your scalp.

6. Prevent hair loss
Following the same process as you would for dandruff, you can create thicker hair. Just remember to distribute the oil evenly.

7. Enhance your existing products
You can even use argan oil to enhance your shampoo and conditioner. Simply add a few drops to your regular products for an ultra-hydrating experience.

8. Repair damaged skin
Cracked skin on feet can be unsightly. Nourish cracked heels by applying argan oil, then cover with socks. The deep hydration will sink into the skin cells and soften your feet.

9. Soften your hands
Massage your hands with argan oil each evening to rehydrate and strengthen, saving your nails from brittleness and cracking.

10. Eradicate stretch marks
Reduce the appearance of stretch marks by massaging argan oil into the tummy, chest, hips and thighs.

11. Treat skin complaints
Eczema and psoriasis can be relieved with the soothing power of argan oil, the substance is natural so it will not aggravate skin conditions.

12. Hydrate your skin
If you are prone to dry skin, rest assured that through applying argan oil to the affected area, you can enjoy smooth, hydrated skin.

13. Soothe sunburn
Sunburn can be painful, but heal those hot spots with a touch of argan oil and feel the sudden difference.

14. Treat bites and stings
Calm irritating bug bites and insect stings with argan oil, which will tone down the redness and soothe itchiness.

15. Fight infection
Argan oil is renowned for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, providing organic, natural care for your skin.

16. Help your joints
Ease your arthritis or rheumatic problems by massaging with argan oil daily. This helps to reduce pain and help improve your quality of life.

17. Use as a baby product
Your baby can bounce around with moisturised and healthy skin. Use argan oil to hydrate without the use of the potentially harmful chemicals and additives found in many baby products.

18. Combat the effects of the sun
Sitting in the sun can result in scaly skin. Applying argan oil will help the scaly areas disappear.

19. Clear up your skin
If you’re prone to acne, use sebum-production-regulating argan oil. It will moisturise without making the face oily, and is also gentle on the skin.

20. Calm down
Relax in a hot bath using argan oil. Add a few drops to the running water and soak up the natural goodness.

Turkish Food Stoke Newington

Aziziye: Stoke Newington

I went here about a week ago with family. We usually sit in the small 'caves' aka private floor seating rooms but they were all booked so we sat in the normal bit. We ordered 2 types of starters - börek (cheese pastry) & lahmacun (turkish flatbread 'pizza' with spicy ground lamb or beef). Yummy!

Cheese borek

Lahmacun and salad

For mains we kofte, iskender & a chicken hot pot thing which I think was called tavuk güveç or sote. The chicken iskender was DELICIOUS. Oh my, small boneless bite size marinated pieces of chicken with yogurt tomato sauce and bread. I also has a juice. The guvec/sote wasn't all that my mum said. The portions were HUGE. I ate half if mine and asked for a takeaway. Mum only ate half of hers too. Tip for next time: Order 3 meals for 4 people. Unless you're a sumo wrestler or have a bottomless pit.

Chicken Iskender

Lamb Iskinder with rice and cherry juice.

The toilets were modern and spotless - a bonus.

2 starters, 4 drinks & 4 mains for just under £60. Would have been nice to be offered mint tea or something at the end but we were full. Try this out guys. And go for a private 'cave' for extra authenticity.

Emotional Fitness: 6 Reasons We Don’t Chase Our Dreams....

.... and why we should anyway.

When it comes to achieving your dreams, what’s stopping you? For many, a bad experience or discouraging person keeps them from fulfilling their heart's desire. But there are millions of other reasons why people don’t take a shot at happiness.
Here are a few of the most common ones:
  • You're too shy to ask.Whether it’s asking someone out on a date or applying for a job, many of us are too shy to actually approach another person. Even today, when much of our communication occurs virtually, nothing takes the place of a face-to-face request. It’s much harder to say no to someone directly than it is to ignore an email.
  • You feel you don’t deserve it.
If you have doubts about your worthiness when it comes to career or relationships, you need to take a long look into your internal mirror. What negative messages are you sending to yourself? Why do you believe that you are not good enough? Asking yourself these questions can help you develop positive alternative thoughts. Remember: You deserve happiness.
  • You question your ability.
You may be able to ask for what you want, and feel you deserve it, but still wonder if you are up to the task. Maybe you think you don’t have the talent or the leadership ability to get the job done. Look, most people learn on the fly. You have to just dive in and expect to make a few mistakes along the way. You will get the hang of whatever it is, soon enough.

  • You feel that you don’t have the time to take on anything more.
Everyone I know who has successfully started their own business began working on it in their spare time. For them and many others, evenings and weekends are no longer spent in front of the television (except maybe during football season). You can spend your extra time building your dream. Anything you want to achieve is worth the extra work.
  • You tell yourself that there’s someone who is better than you.
There will always be people who are better looking, or who have more money, higher degrees, greater experience, or more magnetic personalities. But they aren’t the same as you. You bring your own set of talents, your personal vision, and your values to any situation or relationship with which you’re involved. Trust that what’s inside you is as good as it gets. Now go for it.
  • You’re trying to keep a low profile. You may think that you shouldn’t stand out, because you’re afraid you might get hurt. Yes, successful people can become targets for others who are angry, misguided, or feel somehow inferior. But believing that if you’re successful, harm will come your way is a myth that was started by people too scared to reach for their dreams.
Don’t let yourself or anyone else talk you out of fulfilling your dreams.
